At terrorist acts with use of highly toxic substances any personal equipment does not guarantee protection at huge concentration in the center of impact because effect can happen before putting on the accident protection device. PHOENIXTM protective hood provides safe evacuation on application of substances whose presence in air can be detected with organoleptic means or with signals or external attributes. Restrictions to use of the protective hood PHOENIXTM (model 2004) according to GOST 12.1.004 are: - concentration of oxygen in air less than 17 % (vol.); - concentration of carbonic acid more than 110 g/м3; - concentration of carbon monoxide more than 1,16 g/м3..
1.4. The list of substances (АCDS).
Substantiating requirements to PHOENIXTM protective hood was analyzed the list of substances including: - combustion products at fires; - particulate pollutants, fumes and gases of dangerous chemical substances; - particulate pollutants, fumes and gases that were used or can be used at terrorist acts. The list of substances concerning listed categories is rather long and can include thousand names. There are standards and other legal documents limiting this list up to several tens of substances. For instance, GOST R 22.9.09-2005 specifies 34 substances but force of the standard does not extend on substances which can be used at acts of terrorism. PHOENIXTM protective hood is based on requirements for universal self-rescuers according to GOST R 22.9.09-2005. The main point of these requirements is in the following: Chemical substances can be divided in two groups: organic and non-organic. The last ones are divided into substances of acid and basic essence. By aggregative state harmful admixtures can be present in air as aerosols (solid or liquid particles) or as vapors (gases). Thus the universal self-rescuer should provide protection from aerosols of any nature, vapors and gases of organic, non-organic acid and non-organic basic substances. This condition is implemented in the filtering-absorbing system of the PHOENIXTM protective hood marked АBEK. |
