1.2. Application range

PHOENIX^TM protective hood provides protection of respiratory apparatus, eyes and a head from chemical, radioactive and biological aerosols, smokes and gases of dangerous chemical substances (including products of combustion).

PHOENIX^TM protective hood is the personal safety equipment intended to evacuate a person from zones polluted by dangerous substances that can be result of fire, man-caused disasters and terrorist acts. It can be used in emergency evacuation of people from buildings, constructions and objects of various function (inhabited, industrial, public, educational, medical, railway and motor transport, metro systems, underground passages etc.) and also from dangerous places on the open air.

A person cannot plan possible nature of an extreme situation in advance (it is impossible to make the schedule: Monday - protection from fire, Tuesday - from man-caused failure etc.). It's inconvenient and purposeless to have and simultaneously carry some accident protecting devices of different use, that's why PHOENIX^TM protective hood has universal protective properties making it usable in a fire, man-caused failure, act of terrorism.

Establishing the necessary list and level of the protective properties that define application range for PHOENIX^TM protective hood we considered regulations of the basic supervising documents stating the requirements for systems of organizational-technical actions, conducted in order to maintain fire, chemical and biological safety of the population, statistical data of extreme situations in Russia and abroad, and also results of forecasting of such situations.

In particular, during fires protective hoods should be used to maintain an evacuation process of people on ways of evacuation but not for working in the centers of fires. Thus the level of their protective properties corresponds to the degrees of danger established in building standards and rules, standards of fire safety and other documents issued by State Fire Service for the ways of evacuation of objects of various function, first of all connected with massive presence of people.

At man-caused failures on dangerous chemical objects PHOENIX^TM protective hood can be used by the people as evacuation equipment outside sanitary zones. Also it can be used by the personnel of objects within the limits of sanitary zones for evacuation if it is obvious that the level of danger of the object does not exceed protective properties of a hood.
